Materials Technology for Protective Systems Friday, November 2, 2007 11:00 am , IMS Room 20 MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY FOR PROTECTIVE SYSTEMS Walter X. Zukas U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center Chemical Technology Team Natick, MA 01760 Numerous material approaches are taken to provide protection to individuals from liquid, vapor, and particulate threats. These materials not only need to serve as barriers, but also need to fulfill physical requirements for comfort and durability. A brief review of current systems will be made followed by a more detailed technical discussion of some of the material technologies being explored to advance these systems.
This seminar series is sponsored by a generous grant from U.S. Surgical Corporation. |
