Research Interests

  • Synthesis and processing of ceramic materials, particularly using Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS)
  • Processing of materials with customized phase and microstructural conditions, particularly involving nanostructuring and metastable states.
  • Processing, properties, and behavior of high entropy ceramics
  • Materials with phase transformation behavior, such as: entropic phase transformations and morphotropic/polymorphic phase boundaries
  • Materials related to electrifications: energy generation, storage/batteries, delivery, and conversion
  • Materials with functional properties, such as: optical, ferroelectric, ferromagnetic, electrical, and thermal properties
  • Materials for high temperature and extreme environments
