Institute of Materials Science

Dennis Ndaya holds a certificate in Environmental Impact Assessment and Auditing from Africa Nazarene University (Kenya); a B.S. degree in chemistry and a M.Sc. in environmental chemistry from the University of Nairobi (Kenya); and a postgraduate diploma in education (physics and chemistry) from Moi University (Kenya). He completed his Ph.D. studies, with a focus on Synthesis and Applications of Stimuli Responsive Liquid Crystalline Brush-like Polymers, under the supervision of Prof. Rajeswari Kasi at the University of Connecticut in 2019. In January 2020 he joined Bose Corporation where he worked as Advanced Materials Engineer with a focus on smart wearable materials. He joined the UConn IMS staff in 2020 as a research associate in charge of thermal analysis, rheology and polymers processing. His current scientific interests include thermal analysis, rheology, polymer synthesis, material/polymer characterization, polymer processing, block molecules, semiconducting polymers as well as liquid crystalline brush-like polymers for optoelectronic applications, membranes, drug delivery, sensors, optical devices, and other technologies.
